Self-Priming Pumps

High-efficiency self-priming hygienic pumps designed to evacuate air from the suction line, support tank emptying and CIP return, and deliver stable performance where air may be present. With verified effective CIP cleanability, they can also be used as product pumps in hygienic processes.

Overview

Self-priming hygienic pumps are designed for applications where the suction line can contain air. They help maintain stable operation in CIP return, tank emptying, and other processes with intermittent flow or entrained air.

Standard Design

  • CIP compatible hygienic construction.
  • Stainless steel motor shroud for protection.
  • Complete unit supported on four adjustable stainless steel legs.
  • Impeller can be trimmed to suit application requirements.

Shaft Seals

  • External single or double mechanical shaft seal options.
  • Stationary seal rings: stainless steel (AISI 329), sealing surface: silicon carbide.
  • Rotating seal rings: carbon (standard).
  • Double seal option supports flushing with controlled water consumption.

FAQ

Quick answers for specification and application questions.

What is a self-priming pump?

A self-priming pump can evacuate air from the suction line and establish prime without manual filling, making it ideal for duties like tank emptying and CIP return where air may be present.

Can it be used as a product pump?

Yes—when hygienic design and effective CIP cleanability are verified for the selected configuration, these pumps can be used for product transfer as well as return duties.

When should I choose a double mechanical seal?

Double seals are commonly selected for higher hygiene requirements, better leakage control, or when a seal flush plan is preferred for reliability in demanding conditions.
