Industrial Valves – Check / Non-Return

Industrial Non-Return Valves

Industrial non-return valves (check valves) are designed to prevent reverse flow in piping systems. They protect pumps, compressors and process equipment while ensuring safe and stable system operation. This range includes the LCV-1 bronze lift check valve and the DCV3 compact stainless steel check valve.

Application

Non-return valves are installed to prevent reverse flow in industrial pipelines. They are widely used in water systems, steam lines, aggressive fluids, vapour, acids and alkaline applications depending on valve material selection.

LCV-1 – Bronze Lift Check Valve

The LCV-1 is a bronze lift check valve designed for installation in horizontal pipelines. It prevents reverse flow by means of a lift-type internal mechanism.

Connection Type

BSP threaded connection (ISO 228/1)

Body Material

Bronze

Maximum Pressure

14 bar

Maximum Temperature

260°C

Installation

Horizontal piping only

Function

Prevents reverse flow in industrial pipelines

DCV3 – Compact Check Valve (Wafer / Between Flanges)

The DCV3 is a compact check valve designed to prevent reverse flow. Its wafer-style body fits between flanges and provides a compact alternative compared to swing check valves.

Application

Prevent reverse flow in industrial pipelines where compact installation and high pressure class are required.

Compact design

Fits between flanges and reduces installation space compared to a swing check valve.

Material selection

Austenitic stainless steel body for aggressive fluids, vapour, acids and alkalines.

Maximum pressure

Up to 40 bar

Maximum temperature

Up to 250°C

Disc options

Stainless Steel (SS) or Stainless Steel / Viton

DCV3 – Technical Data & Product List

Compact wafer check valve (between flanges) with stainless steel body (material 1.4581). Available with SS disc or SS/Viton disc depending on media compatibility requirements.

Selection note: For aggressive media or where enhanced sealing is required, choose SS/Viton disc option. Final selection depends on media compatibility, temperature profile, and pressure conditions.

Selection checklist

Share the following details so we can recommend the correct non-return valve type (LCV-1 or DCV3), including disc option and size.

Media / fluid type

Water, steam, vapour, acids, alkalines or other fluids. Media type determines material and disc selection.

Operating pressure

Normal pressure and pressure peaks. LCV-1 is rated up to 14 bar, DCV3 up to 40 bar.

Operating temperature

LCV-1 max 260°C, DCV3 max 250°C. Confirm process temperature profile for safe operation.

Connection & installation

Threaded BSP (LCV-1) or between flanges (DCV3). Confirm pipe layout and available installation space.

Size / line specification

DN size and pressure class (e.g., DN15, DN25, PN40). This ensures correct fit and performance.

Disc option (DCV3)

Choose SS disc for general use or SS/Viton when enhanced sealing or media compatibility requires it.

FAQ

Quick answers to common questions about industrial non-return (check) valves.

What is the purpose of a non-return (check) valve?

A non-return valve allows flow in one direction and closes automatically to prevent reverse flow. This protects pumps, compressors and process equipment and helps maintain stable system operation.

What is the difference between LCV-1 and DCV3?

LCV-1 is a bronze lift check valve with BSP threaded connections, designed for horizontal installation and rated up to 14 bar. DCV3 is a compact wafer check valve installed between flanges, made of austenitic stainless steel (1.4581), rated up to 40 bar and suited for aggressive fluids.

Can LCV-1 be installed in a vertical pipeline?

No. The LCV-1 is specified for installation in horizontal piping. For compact installations and more flexible piping layouts, DCV3 between-flange solutions may be more suitable.

When should I choose SS/Viton disc option for DCV3?

Choose SS/Viton when improved sealing is required or when your process media and operating conditions demand a compatible elastomer. For general applications where elastomer is not required, SS disc is often sufficient.
