Operating Principle

How a Diaphragm Valve Works

A flexible diaphragm isolates the operating mechanism from the process fluid. Its vertical movement opens or seals the flow path against the valve weir, supporting hygienic shut-off with very few product-wetted components.

What information is required to identify the correct OEM part number?

Provide the complete valve family, nominal size, body configuration, connection standard, actuator or handle type, diaphragm material and every visible number. Clear photos of the valve, actuator and nameplate are strongly recommended.

Can a diaphragm be selected only by valve size?

No. The diaphragm must also match the fixation style and material, such as EPDM Button, EPDM Thread, PTFE/EPDM Bayonet or TFM/EPDM. DN10 and DN32 valves require extra attention because the actual diaphragm size may depend on the valve-body standard.

What do NC, NO and A/A mean for pneumatic actuators?

NC means normally closed, NO means normally open, and A/A means air-to-air or double acting. The actuator function must match the installed process and fail-safe requirement.

Are Unique DV-P UltraPure and Radial UltraPure parts still available?

These product families are listed in the catalog as no longer manufactured. Some service parts or tools may still be identifiable, but availability and compatibility must be checked individually against the installed equipment.

Can the same part number be used for every body configuration?

No. Two-way forged, two-way cast, T-valve, tank outlet and block-valve configurations can require different nut, washer, screw and actuator references. Always match the complete valve configuration before ordering.
